Are You Ready for Linux? The Vodafone 360 H1
Yep, it is a Vodafone exclusive Linux Mobile smart phone by Samsung, the Vodafone 360 H1. It is one of the most powerful mobile devices being launched this year and if you want to be ahead of the pack, you will want to get your hands on this. What the Linux mobile has over all the other operating systems is more than just uniqueness, but the amazing programming genius that created the entire Linux Mobile software in the first place.
Linux Mobile, or LiMo is the fruit of over three years of combined programming know-how and scripting prowess by the geniuses at the original Open Source development labs. This is the same technology that gave birth to the Android as well.
More than the OS
Aside from having an amazing operating system, Samsung has ensured that the 360 H1 will be fully equipped and ready to compete with other top tier devices such as the Sony Xperia X3 and the HTC HD2. The 360 H1 will be bringing a lot of hardware on the table. It starts off with the generously large internal storage capacity. 16 gigabytes of internal memory is initially available at launch. We are keeping our fingers crossed for a 32GB variant, but at 16, this device already leaps beyond its competitors. As you can tell by the name, the 360 H1 is fully supported by Vodafone's 360 service.
The 360 Service
The 360 service combines and synchronizes information from your mobile phone such as contacts, messages and emails with information on your computer and online accounts on messengers and social networking websites. This allows you to keep track of status and information updates and changes as well as keeping tabs of messages and correspondences with specific contacts.
Media such as images, audio and videos can be uploaded and shared through the 360 network as well. Devices with GPS features and cameras also have the geo-tagging option available. Geo-tagging is the process of adding GPS data to images in order to create a more detailed information tag on your files. The Vodafone 360 service is accessible throughout the United Kingdom and neighboring countries as well. This will be further expanded next year to include Australian territories and other selected countries.
The 360 H1 Round Up
If there is one thing you should consider before getting a Vodafone 360 H1, it is the fact that this mobile phone is exclusively carried by the Vodafone service. Unless you are not on a plan or your plan is just about to expire soon, switching is not just a viable option for some people.
The pull of a Linux Mobile device can be pretty good particularly if your carrier has a pretty unsatisfactory service. The question all boils down to affordability, people who are still under a plan will still consider switching if the price is right, and with a great device, Vodafone is offering a pretty nice deal. The 360 service is also pretty comprehensive and should be more than enough to satisfy switchers.
